Vision:
Our vision is that the Amazon rainforests, wetlands, biodiversity and the cultural identities of the indigenous peoples are well conserved.

Mission:
Promote locally identified activities and projects which contribute to the conservation of the Amazon rainforests, wetlands, savannas and biodiversity, as well as the indigenous cultural identities.

Objectives:

• Promote and facilitate locally identified initiatives and projects which contribute to Amazon Fund’s vision and mission.
• Empower and strengthen Amazon communities to conserve the natural resources they depend on.Promote and facilitate initiatives to develop sustainable social enterprises which generate income.
• Promote the health and living conditions of small indigenous communities in the Amazon
• Mobilise people in the Amazon, Europe and North America to support the conservation of the Amazon.

Intervention Strategies:

• Raise environmental awareness among the local population of the Amazon region.
• Promote and support the introduction of sustainable agricultural and agro-forestry production systems which contribute to the reduction of deforestation by small subsistence farmers in the region.
• Support the introduction of clean drinking water, sanitation and alternative energy systems in small rural communities.

Activities:

• Promote and facilitate initiatives and projects which fit into the development objectives of the national and local government and which will be implemented by local partner organisations.
• Identify and promote new initiatives which contribute to the vision, mission and objectives of Amazon Fund.
• Projects and activities which have lasting and sustainable impacts.
• Projects and activities which include training and transfer of technology.
